Why Sign up? A Membership in UUP entitles you to:
- Vote on the collective bargaining agreement
- Attend union meetings
- Hold union office
- Elect union leaders on your campus and at the state and national levels
- Upon separation of service, obtain Associate Membership with NYSUT and be eligible for benefit programs
- Maintain membership after retirement and be eligible for benefit programs.

Are you a New Hire?
Important information you need to know:
Vision and Dental Plans – through the UUP Benefit Trust Fund
If you are eligible for NYSHIP (healthcare coverage) you are also eligible for the vision and dental plans are though UUP’s Benefit Trust fund.
Generally, this means you are teaching at least 6 credit hours.

As with your healthcare, the benefits kick in after 28 days.
