Contingent Concerns Committee

The New Paltz UUP Chapter’s Contingent Concerns Committee (CCC) meets regularly to deal with matters of interest to all contingent employees: part-time adjunct lecturers (“adjuncts”), part-time professionals and full-time lecturers. The CCC annually organizes workshops to help contingents apply to SUNY New Paltz for Discretionary Salary Increase (DSI) and to the NYS Department of Labor for unemployment benefits between semesters. The chapter and CCC leaders meet formally several times a semester with the Provost and members of the College’s Human Resources Department in Part-Time Labor Management Meetings. Notes from these meetings can be found in the collection of Archived Documents

Ed Felton, the CCC co-chair, is also the Chapter’s Vice President for Part-Timers and the Officer for Contingents under the recently-revised UUP Constitution. He and others members of the CCC serve on UUP’s statewide Contingent Employees Committee, which meets three times a year during the fall, winter and spring UUP Delegate Assemblies, usually in Albany.
