WHAT IS VOTE/COPE?

VOTE/COPE is the non-partisan political action fund of UUP and its affiliate, New York State United Teachers (NYSUT). VOTE/COPE helps strengthen political action programs on all levels nationally, state, and locally. It coordinates the voluntary contributions of members and serves as a political tool to help support UUP/NYSUT-endorsed candidates and campain committees. At the local level, VOTE/COPE provides rebates to particpating unions for local political action.

VOTE/COPE solicits and accepts only voluntary contributions that are non-tax-deductible. Funds are strictly regulated by state and federal laws, and are kept separate from UUP and NYSUT funds.

Decisions on the use of VOTE/COPE funds are made by statewide committees on issues that affect union members, and are used to fight for legislation and contracts that provide the most beneficial terms to all UUP/NYSUT members, both active and retired. We strongly encourage all UUP members to donate to VOTE/COPE - it is our best weapon to guarantee and protect our rights and benefits.

HOW DO I CONTRIBUTE?

The easiest way to contribute to VOTE/COPE is through payroll deduction. You can donate whatever you amount you want - every donation counts!

If you prefer, you can also make a donation any time by sending a check payable to "VOTE/COPE" to UUP VOTE/COPE Voluntary Contribution, c /o UUP, P.O. Box 15143, Albany, NY 12212-5143.
