Thanks to Local Elected Officials

Dear Colleagues,

It isn’t often that we ask you to thank your elected officials for their positions on legislation but now is the time to send a message of appreciation to both NYS Senator Tom Libous and NYS Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo. Their contact information is noted below.

We have noted before UUP’s opposition to A/S2020, Assembly and Senate versions of a bill that would allow the university center at Buffalo to essentially sever itself from SUNY oversight while ensuring it continues to receive significant state funding regardless of cuts to the whole of SUNY. A variation of these bills is being floated that would allow the four university centers to also remove these controls and still maintain all of their state funding. Additional information on UUP’s opposition to these bills is available at http://www.uupinfo.org.

Please contact Senator Libous and thank him for his “No” vote on the Senate version of the Bill, S2020, a couple of weeks ago.
