University Ombudsman

The Office of the University Ombudsman

The University Ombudsman serves as Binghamton University's designated neutral and advocate for fairness. The University Ombudsman's primary responsibility is to provide independent, confidential and informal assistance to all of the campus community, including members –faculty, students, staff, and employees of the Research Foundation.

At its most basic level, the University Ombudsman Office is a safe place to voice your concerns, evaluate your situation, organize your thoughts, and explore the full range of options available to you. If you believe you have been treated unfairly or if you believe there is a problem at the University that deserves review, you can visit the Ombuds Office to explore possible avenues for resolution.

The office operates with strict confidentiality and keeps no records identifying visitors, so it can be a good first step if you don't know where else to turn or how to proceed.
